Mr. Johnston graduated cum laude from the Gonzaga School of Law. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Eastern Washington University, with a double major in business management and marketing. His experience includes working in the Washington State Legislature for two state representatives and working in his family’s construction business.
Mr. Johnston is the founder and former head coach of the nationally competitive Reed College Mock Trial Program, where he donates his time and shares his experience and passion for litigation and trial tactics with college students. Mr. Johnston is the chairman of the Sports Committee for the Portland Chapter of Gonzaga Alumni and is on the Executive Board of the Oregon New Lawyer Division. He is an avid fisherman and whitewater enthusiast, and he grew up playing on championship basketball and baseball teams.
